As we represent some of the Britain’s finest sports stars we pride ourselves on being able to meet your entertainment, promotional and educational expectations to inspire future generations.
Master Classes & Assemblies
Interactive live shows are our speciality; they are renowned for their interaction and ability to captivate audiences. Our unique live performances have become the talking point and choice for schools across Britain. Programmes led by sporting stars are specifically designed to meet your expectations that put emphasis on healthy lifestyles, inspire students to greater aspirations and fulfil Ofsted criteria.
Sporting Workshops & Fun Days
Our coaching methods are based on all sports in general through a tried and tested formula of engaging the youth through inspirational and motivational strategies.
As part of our programme we introduce proven sports personalities with unique skills. These individuals will share their wealth of knowledge and experience through anecdotes, humour and film sessions.
Our workshop packages include fun work that is educational and healthy. As well as gaining key skills the sessions guarantee a new sporting experience that is new and diverse and gives sport and education a whole new perspective.
Students will have the opportunity to :
• Learn and practise fundamental sporting techniques;
• Learn how best to utilise and employ the skills to achieve higher goals;
• Understand and appreciate sportsmanship and respect for fellow players and officials;
• Promote and practise healthy living with a fitness related lifestyle;
• Enjoy life by pursuing the ‘Olympic ideals’ of friendship, respect, excellence, dedication, inspiration, courage and equality.
Coaching sessions can be adapted depending on the age and skill level of participants. The sessions have also proved popular as a team building activity and raising standards in schools. Special programmes can be tailored to meet any specific organisational goals.
Prize Giving and Awards’ Nights
Having some of the world’s leading sports stars and celebrities at your Prize Giving and awards Evenings adds massive significance to traditional or modern events. As entertaining and motivational speakers they make a spectacular contribution to real celebrations. Providing autographs and photo opportunities are just two additional benefits which provide a lasting legacy from high achievers.
All sessions are tailor made at the school’s behest and are aimed at meeting the school’s specific goals and outcomes. Complementing all of this we provide iconic and visual sports and musical entertainment.
Raising Funds for your school
Appetitio will bring some of the world’s leading sporting personalities to your school.
Furthermore we will provide a massive boost to your funds to compensate for the loss of School Sports Partnerships (SSP). London’s Olympic bid was successful because of Sebastian Coe’s ambition to bring young people back to sport. When Lord Coe travelled to Singapore to make the representation to the International Olympic Committee (I.O.C) he had travelled with 30 school children from the London Boroughs where Olympic events would be held. Some British advisers thought the plan was to convince the committee that we could get young people to return to watch Olympic sport on television but Coe had a much bigger agenda, mainly to demonstrate to the I.O.C, that we could get young people back into sport. Ten years earlier when the Olympic bid was at its embryonic stage, sport had all but disappeared from our state schools, competitive sport was practically outlawed and this was linked to the frightening rise in youth obesity.
School Sports Partnerships (SSPS) were set up covering every school in the country. By 2010 over 3.02 million children were involved in inter-school competitions. After decades of decline, competition, sporting opportunity and quality coaching were starting to pay dividends. Participation was proliferating; and at last a structure for success. Then, with the recessions, the SSPS were axed with the removal of the annual budget of £162 million; ten years of progress were wiped out in one day. In schools we desperately need funds to ensure that our youngsters are inspired to participate in sports.
Not only will Appetitio inspire future generations to aspire to excel but provide the resources to provide the infrastructure underpinning their success.
Every Child Matters Scheme
The aim of the ‘Every Child Matters’ programme is to give all the children the support they need to:
Enjoy and achieve
Make a positive contribution
Achieve economic ‘well-being’
Appetitio actively promotes this agenda and is fully committed to ensuring that it works with its partner schools to excel in the delivery of these key principles.
Personal Learning & Thinking Skills
The personal learning and thinking skills (PLTS) is an essential framework to develop the qualities and skills needed for success in learning sport and life.
After several years of consultation involving students, teachers, employers, parents, and the wider public, the PLTS framework has become a fulcrum of education.
At Appetitio we are enthusiastic about supporting schools in the planning and implementation of PLTS. We appreciate the importance of schooling and want the young people with whom we interact to recognise the value of all forms of education.
Our guidance through our coaching and discussions is built around three key questions:
• What are we trying to achieve
• How will we organise and inspire learning from the event?
• How can we evaluate whether we have achieved our aims?
The day spent with our team revolves around the six groups of skills which form the PLTS framework;
• Independent enquiries
• Creative thinkers
• Reflective learners
• Team workers
• Effective participants
